Newlyweds Tyler and Alexis chose a Florida destination wedding because they grew up visiting the beach and wanted to share that special place with their loved ones. “Our friends and family were all excited about the location choice,” says the bride and groom. “It was great that all of our guests could come enjoy a fun weekend.”

For many couples, choosing the perfect venue can be tricky. However, this bride and groom knew exactly where they wanted to exchange their vows – Alys Beach, near Rosemary Beach, Florida. “The moment I stepped foot onto Gulf Green, I knew I wanted to get married there,” says Alexis. “It was everything I had ever imagined.”

Thanks to help from their wedding planner, these newlyweds say that planning the wedding went very smoothly. They recommend doing some research to find a wedding planner that suits you and your desires most. “Our wedding wouldn’t have been possible without our wedding planner,” the bride says. “She made sure everything was completed and honestly took so much stress off of me.”

Despite most of their planning being stress-free, the couple admits that like any wedding, there were a few challenges. “The closest airport to our wedding is very small and somewhat expensive to fly into,” says Alexis. “This made it difficult for guests from afar to travel to our wedding.” Because of this, the couple says that many of their guests drove long hours to enjoy their special day.

However, before their guests would make the trip, one way the couple prepared was by heading down to Alys Beach themselves. “We made weekend trips to meet with our vendors,” they say. “Our wedding planner also coordinated with them, which made it all run smoothly.”

Despite the extra organization, Tyler and Alexis say they have “no regrets” about not having their wedding in their hometown. Due to where they and their families live, loved ones would have had to travel regardless of where the wedding was held.

At the end of the day, these newlyweds recommend pursuing what you truly want and what makes you happiest. “Follow your heart on the location and venue you wish to get married at,” they say. “It’s so important to follow what you truly feel in this whole process and everything else will fall into place.”
