In a quiet coastal town just 35 minutes from Barcelona, Angela and Alexander tied the knot with a lux garden party-style wedding. Join us as we delve into the chapters of Angela and Alexander’s Spanish fairytale, unveiling the details and vendor work that made this couple’s Spain destination wedding something to behold.
Angela began by working with Alex Micah Art out of Dallas to create stationery that would set the tone and scene for a dreamy Spanish celebration set in a 17th-century Masia (a type of rural construction).
“I knew I wanted watercolor invitations to showcase the beautiful villa we were getting married at,” Angela says.
Next step: Attire. On a wedding dress-shopping girls’ trip to LA, a sleek ball gown designed by Anne Barge stole Angela’s heart. Meanwhile, Alexander chose to don a custom suite ensemble from Balani. The couple’s attention to detail extended to their accessories, with Angela opting for custom jewelry and Alexander sporting a Manly Bands wedding band and a Patek Philippe watch—both embodying Barcelona’s penchant for timeless craftsmanship.
“We knew we wanted an intimate wedding with our closest friends and family,” Angela explained. Against the backdrop of Barcelona’s historic charm, the ceremony unfolded in a setting resembling something out of a romance novel, adorned with natural flowers and installations by their talented florist, Moss Floral Design.
For the reception, the couple wanted to pay homage to the beauty of Spain and the Barcelona region’s vibrant culture. “We knew we didn’t want a ‘traditional’ reception with dancing,” Angela said. Instead, they opted for a fitting performance —flamenco dancers, adding a distinctly Spanish flavor to their special night. The rhythm of flamenco echoed through the night air as guests took in the sights, sounds and tastes of Spain.
Looking back, Angela says her favorite moment had to be the processional. “Walking down the aisle with my brother, seeing Alex and everyone, having ‘Turning Page’ by Sleeping at Last play… thinking and writing about it makes me emotional,” she shared.

The couple’s advice for other couples planning their destination weddings in or around Barcelona is to immerse themselves in the region’s rich cultural tapestry. Angela emphasized the importance of hiring an experienced planner familiar with your destination’s unique charm. The couple also encourages spending time exploring after the wedding to reflect on the celebrations and each other, allowing the cultural depth to infuse their post-wedding experience.
“I never thought I’d get married or be one of those girls who wanted a wedding, but our wedding day in Barcelona was easily the best day of my life,” Angela shared. The memories created during their Spanish fairytale wedding are a testament to the city’s power to elevate love stories, offering an enchanting canvas for couples to paint their dreams.
Each vendor played a crucial role in bringing the couple’s vision to life, contributing to a wedding day that surpassed all expectations. Angela and Alexander’s Barcelona destination wedding incorporated love, culture, and the timeless allure of this Spanish gem.
