Henry and Adaleta enjoy the finer things in life. From the finest wines to the greatest views, it is no surprise that this couple’s motto has been “quality over quantity” since the day they met. For a couple with such discerning tastes, there was no more fitting option than a destination wedding in Rome.
Villa Clara appealed to Henry and Adaleta for its rich history and magical atmosphere. First conceptualized over 100 years ago, the venue provided a perfect setting for the luxurious wedding that the bride and groom-to-be always dreamt of.
“We fell in love with Rome on our first visit,” the couple says. “It felt like we were falling for each other again.”
While they looked forward to their ceremony, Henry and Adaleta were very busy people. This, in addition to being miles away from their venue, made the prospect of planning a wedding themselves daunting.
“With working full-time, running a business, and doing research for my dissertation, I didn’t have the time. That’s why it was important for me to find a planner I could trust,” says the bride.
Luckily, the happy couple found this and more in their wedding planner, Paride of Central Italy Wedding.
“Paride saw my vision from the very beginning,” Adaleta says. “He made me feel comfortable from our first meeting. I’m most grateful for his initiative in executing another option when plans started to change.”
But even with a great planner on their side, the couple’s arrangements didn’t go off without a hitch. Planning across countries led to a multitude of issues for this couple, especially with wire transfers.
“After the second to third transfer, our bank was taking longer to complete the transfer due to fraud review, which didn’t help with the vendors. We thought doing everything from our joint account would be best, but this did not work abroad.” “I would suggest that future couples split their money and spend money from multiple accounts instead of just one,” Adaleta says.
With the difficulty behind them, Adaleta and Henry could finally focus on the fun part: creating the perfect luxury get-away wedding. Between gorgeous white bouquets by Ceccotti Flowers and matching stationery by Riccardo Palazzi of Calligraphy Design, this couple allowed only the finest on their special day. Luckily, Henry and Adaleta were able to plan their dream wedding abroad without breaking the bank.
“Having good wine, champagne, and authentic cuisine, it was in the best financial interest to not have anything imported. We feel like we got the most bang for our dollar!” the couple says. “If we had not held it away from home, our wedding would have been triple the guests, and quadruple the cost.”
By having their wedding in Italy, Henry and Adaleta were able to set others’ expectations aside and cater to their own wishes. Their hope for future couples is to do the same.
“I’ve learned that loved ones often feel entitled to project their wants and desires at your ‘dream wedding.’ The best help is to talk to someone who was a recent bride or groom themselves.”
