With family on both coasts of the U.S., Kylie and Matt knew from the start that their wedding would require travel for everyone no matter what. So a destination wedding not only made sense but it also appealed to the couple’s desire to create an intimate experience in a tropical getaway that held fond memories. 

“Our first vacation as a couple was to Playa Del Carmen and Mexico holds a special place in our hearts,” the couple says. 

All family and friends of Kylie and Matt were excited to have a vacation on the books. Unfortunately, COVID-19 meant many wouldn’t be able to attend, a huge bummer for the couple. Thankfully, there was one upside to the situation.

“The smaller group allowed us more time with everyone who was able to make it,” Kylie tells us.

All other bumps in the road were handled by the couple’s planning team with Paradise Weddings. In fact, having a planner not only alleviated the stress of having to source vendors by themselves, but the couple was able to choose from a list of the top vendors in the area.

“After reviewing our options against our desires and budget, our wedding planners facilitated communications, quotes, payment, and more,” the bride says.

When the wedding weekend finally arrived, Kylie and Matt were able to fully relax and spend quality time with their loved ones in Playa Del Carmen – something they say wouldn’t have been possible had they chosen to wed on the homefront.

“Hosting a destination wedding provided numerous opportunities to grab dinner, a drink, or to simply hang out in the pool with our friends and family leading up to our big day,” Kylie says.

On the wedding day, without a cloud in the sky, the couple were finally able to share their vows on the ocean-facing lawn at the privately rented Villa La Joya. With turquoise waves quietly crashing on the shoreline behind them, Kylie and Matt shared their first kiss as a married couple and partied into the night.
