Karson and Connor’s story began amidst cobblestone streets and historic buildings in Europe, but it truly blossomed against the backdrop of their college years at Miami University. Their journey from college sweethearts to life partners came to a crescendo at the Flying Diamond Ranch in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Choosing a destination wedding was a no-brainer for Karson and Connor, who were drawn to the rustic charm and natural beauty of ranch settings. “Karson always wanted to get married on a ranch, and we found Flying Diamond through our own research and couldn’t pass up the beautiful aspens!” Connor shares. Steamboat Springs, with its laid-back atmosphere and proximity to Denver, provided the perfect blend of accessibility and tranquility for their guests.

To bring their dream wedding to life, Karson collaborated with Menakshee Designs to infuse the décor with an elegant ranch-meets-French-country vibe. “I really wanted a fun escort display to welcome people into the reception,” Karson shares. The result was a stunning blend of wood and leather accents, complemented by vibrant blue florals and flickering candles, creating an atmosphere of rustic sophistication.

Navigating the complexities of planning a destination wedding was made easier with the help of their planner, Ali. “She had worked with many of the vendors before and kept us at ease the entire time,” Connor says. While pre-wedding site visits provided a glimpse into the magic of Flying Diamond Ranch, it was Ali’s expertise that truly brought their vision to fruition.

The ceremony itself was a reflection of Karson and Connor’s personalities and shared history. Their best friend, who had been with them through college and beyond, officiated the ceremony, adding a deeply personal touch to the proceedings. “It was really special to us to have someone who was important to us both and who also had a good understanding of our relationship,” Connor reflects.

Incorporating their beloved dog, Stitch, into the ceremony was another highlight for the couple. “He is our best friend and had to be a part of the day!” Karson says. With Stitch trotting down the aisle, the couple exchanged their heartfelt vows during a touching first look, followed by traditional vows during the ceremony itself.

Reflecting on their experience, Karson and Connor offered invaluable advice to future couples. “Hire a planner if you can!” Karson urges. “They think of so many things that would have never crossed your mind and really give you a secure feeling that your day will be perfect no matter what happens.”

In the heart of the Rockies, amidst the whispering aspens and rugged beauty of Flying Diamond Ranch, two souls became one, surrounded by the warmth and joy of their nearest and dearest.
