We’ve all seen it in the movies. A person attends a concert, and just when their favorite song comes on, they lock eyes with a beautiful stranger and get swept away. While we may dismiss this cinematic situation as too good to be true, Alexandra and Christopher’s love story begins in a very similar way.
“We met at a Guns N’ Roses concert,” Alexandra says. “We shared a box at MSG for their reunion tour. His friend invited him, my friend invited me, and somehow, I made my way to where he was standing and stayed with him the whole show.”
When the couple chose to start their forever together, Alexandra had no trouble envisioning the setting for her special day. “I’ve always dreamed of a wedding in Charleston,” she says. “The architecture and Spanish moss are exquisite and provide the most romantic backdrop.”
Another benefit to choosing the charming coastal city in South Carolina– it wouldn’t be too much of a challenge to get to. “Because of COVID, we wanted our destination to be within driving distance,” the couple says. “Luckily, we did not have any issues making this dream a reality. Once I found our wedding planner, everything was smooth sailing.”
Francesca of Pure Luxe Bride took note of the couple’s preferences and began meticulously coordinating every detail. Their planner’s excellence gave the couple an extra boost of confidence in their decision. “Getting a wedding planner who is knowledgeable of the area and who has already handpicked the best vendor team is key to a successful destination wedding,” Alexandra says. “I knew we were in excellent hands; we just had to show up!”
Arriving in Charleston, ready for the festivities to begin, Alexandra could hardly contain her excitement. After all, Christopher was new to the popular vacation spot, making each experience extra special. She couldn’t wait to show off all the charm of the city, and snap wedding photos featuring backdrops chock-full of colorful architecture and old oaks draped in Spanish moss.
The couple tells us selecting Charleston over their hometown paid off…literally. “We did save money by choosing to do a destination. The cobblestone roads and old oaks were our décor and wedding packages were available to bundle the cost.” In hindsight, the bride and groom enjoyed all of the delights they’d hoped for in a destination wedding, with an added bonus. “Did I mention?” Alexandra adds. “We saw Bill Murray the next day!”
