The Napa Valley, a haven from busy city life, is a serene setting at any point of the year, but the springtime, now that is when it is at its most magical. Wine lovers Lauren and Miloš, who hail from different parts of the world and came together in the City by the Bay, could not have chosen a better place to host a dreamy California wedding.

This couple’s story is delightfully modern. Lauren downloaded Hinge with a healthy dose of skepticism, not expecting much beyond a few polite conversations. Miloš, however, turned out to be her second date on the app and very quickly, the last one she needed. They met for cocktails at a San Francisco bar on a weeknight and hit it off, prompting a second date that same weekend. Just six weeks later, a shared ski trip to beautiful Park City, Utah, undoubtedly set these adventurous souls on the marriage trajectory.

When wedding planning began, Lauren (originally from Southern California) and Miloš (from Serbia) considered the guest list. Rather than asking everyone to choose one side of the world, they opted to compromise by hosting two weddings, one stateside and the other in Serbia.

Napa felt like an obvious “yes” for their celebration closer to home. Moreover, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley checked every box. Planning two weddings in one year meant Lauren required a venue that could handle most services in-house, minimizing the number of vendors to secure in a short timeframe. The property’s polished approach, paired with a reliable indoor “Plan B” venue for April’s shifty weather, sealed the decision.

Together with wedding planner Carly Saber, the couple leaned into a timeless, old-world-inspired aesthetic. A shared Google spreadsheet helped everyone stay on the same page and track everything from décor ideas to guest lists and budgets.

Lauren and Miloš welcomed guests aboard a weekend of celebration at the Calistoga Depot, a historic train station with revamped train cars featuring restaurants and a boutique with local sips, bites and art. It was a playful, immersive start to the weekend that allowed guests to mingle in a quintessential Napa establishment.

When the wedding day arrived, the shifty April clouds gave way to a perfect spring afternoon, allowing the couple to proceed with their outdoor ceremony as dreamed. Guests were led to their seats along an aisle lined with lush blooms from Soulflower Design Studio, culminating at a stunning “broken arch” altar that framed the couple against the vineyard backdrop. The ceremony itself, officiated by a close friend whom Lauren describes as being “born for the role,” incorporated a traditional handfasting ritual for the couple.

As the sun tucked behind the Valley walls, the celebration transitioned into a reception with vintage charm and refined elegance. The color palette evolved from soft, light pinks during the day into deep, rich burgundies at night. Gold candelabras and crystal chandeliers cast a warm, ethereal glow over the tables, while the scent of fresh florals filled the air.

Pearls served as the day’s signature motif. Lauren’s gown was intricately covered in luminous gems, a theme echoed by her bridesmaids’ accessories and even the finer details of the wedding cake.

The couple’s shared passion for wine was showcased through a sophisticated selection of French vintages. All served in large-format bottles (some as large as six liters), the wine pouring process provided a theatrical element to the evening. By leaning into their love for old-world romance and the natural beauty of Napa, Lauren and Miloš created a little pocket of Heaven on Earth for themselves and their guests to enjoy.
