Personalized wedding websites aren’t new to the destination wedding scene, but what used to be boring, uninspired options are now being replaced by chic, high-end looking sites easily dedicated to your event. For any wedding, it’s nice to keep your guests in the loop, but for destination weddings it’s pretty much essential. So, streamline this process with style and create your own wedding website.

There’s a strong possibility you’ve heard of Squarespace – the leading web publishing platform. If you haven’t heard of the service, there’s virtually a guarantee that you’ve seen one of their sites in action. Well, Squarespace just launched itself into the wedding website stratosphere and now offer website templates custom-created to handle wedding details like RSVPs, registries and an address book. It’s free to sign-up and you can try out a site for 14 days before committing.

On your wedding website through Squarespace, you simply pick a chic, sophisticated template (it doesn’t really even look like a template) and start customizing it with your wedding’s information. You can add a cash registry to the site for guests who don’t want to fuss with traditional gifts, share your engagement photos, collect address for “thank you’s” and share important information like accommodations.

Perhaps most importantly, your new wedding website will be mobile friendly – making it look like an expensive, customized site. You also get a free custom domain with an account, so there’s no embarrassingly long URL for your guests to remember. Websites and hosting start at just $8 a month for personal sites.

We’ve worked with several templates and web design programs before. We tried Squarespace and built a personalized site from start-to-finish. We found that building your site can be as simple or complicated as you want. The basic features are easy to access and achieve, but if you dive a little deeper, there are a lot of other options for customizing your template. It’s not as straightforward as some of the wedding website templates on The Knot, for example, but putting in the extra effort will definitely show and we think it’s worth it.
