The city of Charleston, SC is full of cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and relics of the 17th century, but woven in these pieces of the city’s past are memories of Nate and Laura’s blossoming love story. The couple first met in the city of historic treasures where they chose to hold their dream wedding.

Laura grew up in Georgia while Nate’s family lived in Illinois so a destination wedding was the perfect choice for the two whose families were nearly a thousand miles apart.

“This was a great opportunity to provide our family and friends with a fun escape and new experiences,” the groom says.

The historic nature of the city they love meant that many venues could only hold a small group of guests, so they were faced with their first hurdle to leap over in their wedding planning journey. Yet, with the help of Pure Luxe Bride, the couple found the Cedar Room was the perfect venue to accommodate their list of guests.

When the couple once again ran into a hurdle due to the pandemic, their coordinator was right there to help.

“Due to the pandemic we did run into issues with our original date but our wedding planners were able to effectively communicate and coordinate all changes with us and our vendors,” the groom says.

With the venue secured and guests planning to make their way to South Carolina, Nate and Laura’s destination wedding became an occasion to share their love and provided a getaway from everyday life for the people closest to them.

“Many took advantage of the destination and made a week-long trip or a long weekend,” the groom says. “They took advantage of everything Charleston has to offer including the beaches at the Isle of Palms.”

In a venue that beautifully captured the rustic and historical feel of the city where they found love, the couple married surrounded by lush greenery and gorgeous roses designed by Petaloso.

With the help of their planners and loved ones, Nate and Laura conquered each hurdle. At the end of their dash, they returned to their roots for the wedding of their dreams and memories that will never fade.

“The opportunity to bring families together outside of their hometowns for an extended period of time allowed for us to make memories that we would cherish for a lifetime,” the bride says.
