In the heart of the majestic Colorado Rocky Mountains, Taylor and Griffin celebrated their union in a vibrant and unforgettable Vail mountaintop destination wedding overlooking the majestic Gore Range.

“A story as old as time…we met at a work holiday party,” Taylor says about the fateful encounter that set the stage for her and Griffin’s journey to marriage.

The decision to have a destination wedding was fueled by the desire for a day that reflected who Taylor and Griffin are as a couple. Taylor explained, “I knew planning our wedding day should be filled with happiness, and when this was missing, I knew I had to change it up…what better way than by changing to a destination!?”

Selecting Vail, Colorado as the wedding destination was a unanimous decision for the couple. “Vail is a place we both look forward to visiting every year, especially during ski season,” Griffin shared. “We thought, what better place to have our closest friends and family visit and help us celebrate!”

Acknowledging the challenges of planning from afar, Taylor praised their wedding planner, Jennifer from Gemini Event Planning & Design. “We honestly could not have done it without her,” she exclaimed. Taylor’s vision was a colorful and fun celebration, a “classy kid’s birthday party with rainbows and sunshine.” With the planner’s guidance and a curated list of vendors, the vision came to life at The 10th.

Despite some flight delays, the couple ensured a smooth experience for their guests. “We sent out save the dates over a year in advance to help our guests plan/book flights as soon as possible,” explained the bride. To overcome the distance between the airport and Vail, they arranged shuttles for their guests.

“Having a destination wedding helped us keep the event much more intimate, which in the end, probably saved us money,” Taylor noted. While acknowledging potential cost differences based on location, she emphasized the importance of focusing on the couple’s dream rather than adhering to external expectations.

Reflecting on how the wedding would have been different closer to home, Taylor shared, “I think we would have had a larger guest list and a little less excitement, from both the wedding couple and the guests. It’s always exciting to travel somewhere new, especially when it’s to celebrate a wedding!”

Taylor offered valuable advice to couples preparing for their special day: “It’s important to remember that the wedding is the couple’s special day, and they should focus on what they want and need to make it everything they ever dreamed of. Anything is possible with enough advance notice and planning involved.”

In the breathtaking backdrop of Vail, Taylor and Griffin’s destination wedding was a celebration of love, color, and joy—a testament to the idea that breaking away from tradition can lead to a wedding day that exceeds all expectations.
