Romantic Getaways
Words by Tracey LylesA much-needed romantic getaway with the love of your life is always a great idea. It’s even more memorable when the occasion is for celebrating a significant milestone in your relationship such as an engagement, wedding, honeymoon or even an anniversary. Some places more than others ignite adventure and make us want to fall in love over and over again. Do consider these five enchanting destinations when you are ready to plan an unforgettable experience in paradise.

Fiji
Savasi Island in Fiji is very small and intimate with only seven villas and private plunge pools. The blissful getaway offers amazing signature experiences during your stay including hiking, mud crabbing, diving, fishing and stand-up paddle boarding. Savasi also has one of the best dine-out options. You can eat at the main restaurant or choose a secluded cavern by the sea, a private beach beneath the stars or from the comfort of your own villa.
Italy
It goes without saying that Italy, particularly Venice, is one of the most popular places in the world for beauty and natural romance. Famous for its gondola rides on the waterways that connect the city, you can also get a ride to some of the best shopping in Europe. When night falls, enjoy the lights and hold your lover near for a sweet kiss and perhaps a special question: Will you marry me?
Bora Bora
An island in French Polynesia, do take your love to higher heights in Bora Bora. The magical setting redefines South Seas romance. It’s known for barrier reefs, cobalt lagoons and volcanic peaks that rise above the tropical rain forest and powder-soft beaches. You can affirm your bond at the Four Seasons on a pristine coral beach or on a small nearby island, aboard a catamaran or in a Polynesian wedding chapel.
Napa Valley
Are the two of you ultimate wine lovers? Then this might be your best escape yet. The Wine Country is the best combination of wineries, restaurants and new discoveries. One popular date-night destination is celebrity chef Michael Chiarello’s Bottega Napa Valley. It’s the perfect atmosphere for surprising your significant other with a romantic marriage proposal and gorgeous engagement ring positioned perfectly in a lighted ring box.
Emerald City
Ever since Sleepless in Seattle, the city continues to be a top destination for weddings and we can see why. Places in Seattle on your checklist should include the Space Needle, which is the most iconic building along the Seattle skyline where you get a glittering view of all the city lights; Seattle Great Wheel—open year-round and the perfect place to start your ride together as an engaged or married couple; and Central Cinema—the city’s “most fun movie theatre” and only dine-in cinema, where you can watch your favorite flick in a warm room full of happy diners.
We hope these few suggestions will increase your appetite for love and adventure. And to help with your plans, we’d like to offer you the chance to win one of three amazing prizes in Robbins Brothers’ Epic Holiday Adventure Giveaway!
