Luxury Wedding Escapes has created a brand new category in the global wedding industry, an immersive pre-wedding destination planning trip. Launching its first experience in partnership with the Switzerland Tourism Board, Luxury Wedding Escapes is set to transform how engaged couples plan their destination weddings by replacing virtual meetings and remote decision-making with a fully immersive, editorial-style travel experience.

A landscaped garden with paths and trees borders a calm lake, with mountains visible in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

Luxury Wedding Escapes first retreat invites couples from the United States and around the world to travel to Switzerland and experience their future wedding location in person. This is not a generic site tour or a rushed day of appointments. It is an elevated, thoughtfully produced seven-day journey that blends luxury travel, personalized vendor introductions, curated culinary moments, and visually rich brand style activations designed to spark inspiration.

At Destination I Do, what immediately caught our attention is how Luxury Wedding Escapes gives engaged couples the kind of insider access usually reserved for planners and editors. Industry professionals often get to experience destinations in a curated, immersive way, but couples rarely do. This retreat changes that by offering them the same level of depth, discovery, and inspiration.

What makes this concept entirely new is the level of intention and production behind every moment. Each trip is designed like a high-end editorial travel experience, similar to the most coveted influencer trips, where every activation is beautifully styled, and every setting is chosen to help couples imagine their own wedding story within the destination. These activations are not simply for inspiration; they showcase ideas and sensory moments that couples can bring into their own celebrations.

During the Switzerland experience, guests will stay in some of the country’s most iconic luxury hotels, including Fairmont Le Montreux Palace overlooking the sparkling lakefront, the celebrated Villars Palace in the Alps, and the historic Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern. These settings offer the perfect backdrop for private venue previews, guided tours through architectural and alpine locations, and curated inspiration sessions with top Swiss wedding creatives.

The itinerary includes romantic culinary experiences, local tasting events, scenic explorations, hands-on design consultations, and intimate brand integrations. Vetted planners, florists, photographers, and hospitality experts from across the region will meet with couples directly, giving them the clarity and confidence that virtual planning never could.

Each retreat has been designed for two people, whether an engaged couple, a bride and parent, or the person who plays the most meaningful role in their planning journey.

Luxury Wedding Escapes was founded by Michele Fox Gott, a leading expert in luxury weddings and events known for producing celebrations for clients such as Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, Snoop Dogg, Kat Von D, and Niecy Nash. After seeing couples make defining decisions through screens, she set out to create a more connected way to plan. “Couples were planning their weddings remotely, often without ever feeling the destination they had chosen,” says Michele. “It felt disconnected from the magic that weddings are meant to evoke. I wanted to create something beautifully immersive, a trip where every moment brings their wedding to life in a way Zoom never can.”

Following the Switzerland launch, Luxury Wedding Escapes will expand its immersive retreat program to other leading global wedding destinations, including Greece, Mexico, Spain, and The Bahamas, with additional regions to be announced. Each location will offer its own editorially styled programming, showcasing the cultural, culinary, and design influences that make each destination unique.

Luxury Wedding Escapes is not simply improving destination wedding planning; it has created an entirely new model for it. By blending luxury travel, expert guidance, trusted partners in tourism and hospitality, and beautifully produced brand activations, it is giving couples a front-row experience of what their wedding could become. These retreats offer the romance of travel, the precision of expert guidance, and the clarity that comes only from being present in the destination itself.
