The only reason I chose a 4 month engagement was due to the fact that many of my guests already lived in and around Austin, and we were lucky enough to utilize a family-friend owned wedding venue on an off-date. It turned out okay, but we did have to go into the planning process with the expectation that many people wouldn't be able to attend (and that was okay for us).
