With every wedding destination, my eyes are always wandering to find what makes a property unique. Walking into The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa, I was immediately greeted with the beauty of Cayman. With all the resort’s major renovations, the entire lobby carries the awe-inspiring Caribbean waters right to your feet. Everyone expects to see the alluring beach with calm, crystal clear water, but what you don’t expect are the millions of white butterflies gracefully flying across the white sand in springtime.
The Westin Grand Cayman offers amazing surprises everywhere you turn. Almost all 343 guest rooms offer balconies with an ocean view. The temperature is never below 63 degrees and the island is just south of Cuba and approximately 120 miles from Jamaica.
The resort delivers everything from great cuisine, seclusion, family activities, fireworks and amazing spa treatments.
Red Sail Sports is located on the property and they are dedicated to helping everyone have fun and to make the most of your vacation whether you are a novice or an experienced water sports aficionado. I have never snorkeled or driven a WaveRunner, yet everyone was patient as I found my way around the wonders of the Caribbean.
October through the end of April is considered the high season in the Caymans; I was there in June and couldn’t imagine a more spectacular time of year. Every sunset provides another surprise and is the optimum time to exchange vows due to the captivating colors of the sky over the ocean. There are picturesque photo opportunities everywhere you turn and the rich, vivid colors of the water and the sky do not disappoint.
Take your experience up a notch with Cobalt Custom Charters. This luxury charter boat comes complete with experienced staff and first-class amenities. All to ensure your day is filled with memories you will never forget, like swimming with and being kissed by a stingray.
Here, everyone is on vacation and far away from day-to-day work, making it easy to embrace “island time” and enjoy the beauty of Cayman.
