White sand beaches, swaying palms and the aquamarine Caribbean waters were the perfect backdrops for this vibrant and fashion-forward celebration. Wyndham Alltra Cancun played host to our group of talented destination wedding vendors who expertly captured the beauty of the location along with stunning festivities for our gorgeous couple.

Cecilia Avellaneda, owner and designer for Velvet Event Design created a forward-thinking and colorful Mandap by the sea. “Couples come to Cancun for the view and I wanted to make sure the design focused on that,” says Avellaneda.

The ghost chairs alongside the white aisle and monochromatic platform give center stage to not only the view but the brightly colored roses, hanging amaranthus and mixed greenery ensconcing the triple-arched structure.

Our model couple, Shareen and Raghbir are smartly dressed in custom attire by Rachita Singh of Royal Indian Closet and hair and makeup by Styling Trio. Shareen’s beautiful henna is by Lemons and Mehndi and her jewelry by Royal Indian Closet.

The rooftop terrace at Wyndham Alltra Cancun offers not only panoramic views of the azure waters below but a large space for our beautifully adorned reception. For couples thinking of a similar set-up, the rooftop can accommodate groups of up to 100.

Each table mimics the floral design for the ceremony, and with an even more modern twist. The contemporary rectangle tables with gold accents are elevated by assorted vases filled with colorful flowers, clear glass candle holders, soft blue velvet table runners and hanging floral arrangements. The assorted blue glassware, gold flatware and gold-rimmed glass chargers give a sophisticated feel to the event, while the whimsical table numbers and menu cards by Minted bring in a playful element. All floral, decor and rentals are by Velvet Design.
