Jenna and Kyle got engaged, immediately began planning their special day and instantly knew they would have a Cancun destination wedding. Jenna says, “I chose a destination wedding because I had always imagined myself getting married at the beach on the ocean, my favorite place in the world!”

After choosing Hyatt Ziva Cancun as the place to host their destination wedding, it was time to tell their friends and family the news. Jenna says her family and friends were thrilled to go and that “it was a mini vacation for them.”

With the help of Allison Lezon of Daisy Photography Studio and wedding planner Sara Greiner, the couple was able to create everlasting memories on their special day. Jenna says she “loved planning a destination wedding!” Ms. Sara Greiner used to work alongside Jenna as she came from a wedding planning background. Jenna says, “I would recommend a planner to any bride” and that it is “the best money you will spend.” The bride and groom decided to have some do-it-yourself projects as well and had sea glass callligraphy place cards made.

Jenna says, “I was actually very surprised at how easy and organized working with vendors from afar was.” Jenna also admits that she felt she “spent less money going the destination route.” She says otherwise, she would have decided on having a wedding in Texas and would have had twice the amount of people, amounting in more money.

Overall, Jenna says “The absolute best part about a destination wedding is the fact that you get several days with your closest friends and family, rather than just one evening. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The time with them was irreplaceable.”

Jenna has lots of great tips for anyone planning a destination wedding:

  • Trust your vendors and get a planner.
  • Be patient and understand you are not their only bride
  • Enjoy every minute, it goes by so quickly!
