Inspired by the timeless elegance of Nancy Meyers films, this Coastal Grandma Aesthetic Styled Wedding at the Seattle Tennis Club was a dream brought to life. Embracing a palette of creams, whites, and oceanic shades of blue, the style leans heavily into textures of knits, rattan, timeless linens, and floaty chiffon. Partnering together, Emerald Engagements and B. Jones Photography (with much of the creative inspiration from Timeless Rental) came up with a vision to recreate the serene charm of Lake Como right on the shores of Lake Washington.

The Venue: The North Lawn at the Seattle Tennis Club provided the perfect backdrop. This exclusive, members-only club has hosted the prestigious Washington State Open annually since its inception in 1890. Nestled on the picturesque shores of Lake Washington, the club offers panoramic views of downtown Bellevue, the Cascade Mountain Range, and Mount Rainier.

Stationery: Shades of blue watercolor plaid adorned the envelope liners, matching the invitations. A set of tennis rackets decorated the return addresses, while the wedding weekend schedule featured hand-painted coastal artwork and quintessential Seattle activities. The welcome sign mirrored the blue plaid theme, tying everything together beautifully.

Ceremony: Departing from traditional seating, the ceremony featured woven grass poofs, embellished fabric poufs, and hyacinth rugs. Champagne-tone satin umbrellas with fringe provided shade, and an arced floral installation inspired by a living meadow complemented the sweeping views of the lake, mountains, and city without obscuring them.

Cocktail Hour: Guests enjoyed an immersive coastal appetizer experience with a mobile oyster bar, where young ladies wearing specialty belts offered freshly shucked oysters + gourmet sauces. The specialty cocktail, the Honey Deuce, is the official drink of the US Open. It added a refreshing touch with its raspberry lemonade flavor and honeydew melon ball garnish, reminiscent of tennis balls.

Reception: The menu featured Malay Halibut with sticky rice bon bons, stir fry vegetables, and green curry broth, alongside seared halloumi cheese with green olives, Marcona almonds, dates, arugula, mustard seeds, and crostini. The intimate reception table was adorned with white and green floral arrangements, vintage coupes for champagne, and pale blue taper candles, exuding coastal elegance. Raw edge linen napkins, white and blue floral chinoiserie plates, and King Louis rattan back chairs completed the effortlessly sophisticated setting. Classic white place cards with hand-lettered names in navy and menus adorned with watercolor art of heirloom golden tomatoes, PNW Dungeness crab, and ice cream cones added personalized, artistic touches.

Overall, the collaboration between the team of vendors was seamless.”It was a delightful experience working side by side with so many talented PNW wedding vendors,” photographer, Becca says. “There was a high level of excitement that was palpable from everyone throughout the entire process.”
