Shortly after getting engaged, Dream and Blake went on a little vacation to celebrate. Little did they know, the place they’d be staying, Chileno Bay Resort, would draw them to come back months later for their “I do’s.”

“When we stayed at the resort we fell in love with it,” Dream says. “We knew it would be the perfect place for us and our guests would enjoy their stay and fall in love with it as well.”

When the couple informed their guests of their decision, most were ecstatic to get a little respite from their homes. However, because the wedding would be taking place during COVID, a few guests weren’t too happy. But Dream and Blake say this was something they expected and weren’t too upset as their priority people would be in attendance. Past getting the word out, the couple handed the reins to their wonderful planner who was quite familiar with the destination.

“I couldn’t have done any of it without my planner Kelsey. A wedding is stressful enough and having a wedding planner takes off a lot of the stress,” the bride says.

In fact, thanks to Kelsey, Dream and Blake only had to meet with their vendor team once during a trip dedicated to wedding planning. All other communication and logistics were handled. The resort picked up and dropped off all the guests so guests didn’t have to worry about transportation. 

After a beautiful weekend of celebrating their love with close friends and family, the couple felt a destination wedding couldn’t have been more perfect for them. 

“If we held it at home it wouldn’t have been as special and as much of a memorable experience for us and for our guests,” Dream says.

Having such a wonderful experience, Dream and Blake want to leave other couples looking to host their nuptials abroad with this piece of advice: “Choose a destination YOU love, no matter if people have negative opinions about it. It is YOUR day. Hire a wedding planner, it will save your sanity!”
