As an editor at Destination I Do, I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world and it’s no secret that Montana is one of my favorite places on the planet. After making four separate visits, it’s clear that the destination has vast offerings when it comes to weddings, accommodations and activities. For a nature-lover’s destination wedding, you should consider Big Sky, Montana. It’s a scenic, 60-minute drive from Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. Below, please find some of our recommendations on places to say “I do” surrounded by vast mountain vistas and your dearest loved ones.

Rainbow Ranch Lodge

This 21-room hotel has played host to celebrity weddings in the past and just might be the perfect backdrop for your own dream nuptials. Located along the Gallatin River, wedding venues include the Rainbow Ranch’s lodge, historic barn and covered deck. Aside from the beautiful valley views, Rainbow Ranch is also known for its exceptional cuisine.

Big Sky Luxury Rentals

If you’re after a more intimate, low-key destination wedding, then renting a large luxury home might be a great option. Big Sky Luxury Rentals has homes for rent ranging in size from two bedrooms to 10,000 square-foot homes that will sleep 22 guests. This could be a cost-effective option for accommodations, while keeping your loved ones close. The sweeping mountain views off many of the homes’ large decks could be the ideal setting for simple “I do’s.”

Moonlight Lodge

Located within the mountain community of Moonlight Basin and at the base of Lone Mountain, Moonlight Lodge is open to the public for private events. An on-site events coordinator will help streamline the planning process and ensure your W-Day vision becomes a reality. If you’re wanting to stay nearby, the Moonlight Club Member Services team can help arrange renting out a club member’s home during your visit to Big Sky.

Buck’s T-4

This lodge and restaurant has been on the Big Sky scene for over 50 years. They have a pretty outdoor ceremony site, but we recommend Buck’s T-4 for a delicious and authentic mountain meal. Generally considered one of the best restaurants in Big Sky, Buck’s T-4 specializes in wild game and hand-cut steaks. With an extensive wine list to boot, this would make a perfect rehearsal dinner venue.
