Mexico is full of wedding-friendly destinations and Playa del Carmen is no exception. When I think of the Cancún and Riviera Maya area, large all-inclusives located right off the main road come to mind. These types of hotels are amazing for destination weddings, but if you’re looking for a more off-the-beaten-path feel, then Playa del Carmen might be for you. The Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort would make an excellent choice for a couple looking to say “I do” in a chic setting. As with the rest of the property, the décor is a modern Mayan mash-up with clean architectural lines contrasted by natural, local stone and wood. 

The Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort considers weddings their main business and even the most discerning couple will walk away impressed. Exchange vows under the architectural “bridge” that frames the ocean before celebrating closer to the sand on one of two massive decks that provide a sand-free, beachfront setting.

One of the best things about Mexico is the food and the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort more than delivers. Munch on fresh ceviche and guacamole at La Cocina by day and delight in surf and turf at The Grill at 1 26 by night. No matter how you choose to say “I do,” be sure to stick around post-sunset.
