Frequent travelers will know that cruising holds a certain appeal for groups wanting comprehensive packages, alluring destinations and a stress-free travel experience. So, why wouldn’t you consider hosting your destination wedding aboard a sailing venue? Cruising isn’t for everyone, but for brides who want a seamless and hands-off planning experience, it could be the perfect option. Also, a lot of cruise lines are now accommodating destination weddings in that they can offer legally-binding nuptials onboard or onshore. MSC Cruises is one such option.
This family-owned, Italian cruise line recently introduced legally binding wedding ceremonies aboard the MSC Divina. Set sail from Miami with your soon-to-be spouse and guests to say “I do” in any one of these Caribbean destinations: Bridgetown, Barbados; Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; Falmouth, Jamaica; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Nassau, Bahamas; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas and Philipsburg, St. Maarten.
Partner-up with one of MSC Cruises’ event planners with The Wedding Experience to customize your wedding and maximize the line’s offerings for wedding couples. Your planner will handle all the details leading up to your wedding as well as day-of coordination. Ceremonies and receptions are completely customizable and packages can include everything from photography and videography packages, music, fresh flowers and food, to favors, transportation for shoreside events and personalized invitations.
There are also perks depending on your number of guests. Invite the whole crew because the more rooms your party books, the more benefits to you and your beloved. Couples whose group books at least 13 rooms will get a free upgrade to a balcony stateroom. Larger groups (30+ rooms) will get a complimentary suite and 50+ rooms will get you a Yacht Club stateroom.
Basic packages start at just $1,600 for a shipboard event and $2,200 for a shoreside event – depending on your chosen location. The basic package includes: a pre-sailing event manager, local non-denominational wedding officiant, wedding day ceremony coordinator, bridal bouquet and boutonniere, cake for two, bottle of Champagne and a one-hour photography session.
