Destination weddings and adventure weddings are some of the most fun vacations you can put together. There’s nothing quite like celebrating your love with some of your closest friends and family in a remote destination of your choosing. Whether you find your nuptial kiss on the beaches of Fiji or the mountain tops of your nearest national park, you probably want a bit of extra flair to get the party going.

While a lot of wedding decorations don’t travel well or would take up far too much valuable space in your luggage, there are a few classy solutions you can stow away to brighten up your destination wedding even more. Here are just a few DIY decor options that you can easily pack for your destination wedding.

Twinkle Lights

Twinkle lights have become a wedding staple as of late, and for good reason. They offer a classy touch of sparkle and magic, and work with nearly every setting. Plus, they’re relatively inexpensive and easy to transport. If you’re alright with plastic, finding plastic string lights or simply keeping glass bulbs in their packaging until you arrive will probably be your best bet.

Paper Lanterns

Paper lanterns can lay flat and stack on top of one another. Even if you just pack a few of them, they can bring a fun touch and a bit of depth to your space. Try packing them against the bottom or top edge of hard luggage so they don’t get crinkled or damaged — though a bit of wrinkling can even add to the charm, depending on the style.

Signs

A great way to signal that you’re getting married is a literal sign that says you’re getting married. The beauty of signs is that they tend to be flat and foldable, and if they’re fabric or towel material, you won’t risk a tear. You can even go for a full-on rally towel if you feel it will work with your theme and colors.

Fake Flowers

While real flowers are difficult to transport, fake ones or paper ones can take a bit of the stress out of the situation. While you don’t need to bring a whole garden full of flowers, packing a few as accent pieces or even packing your bouquet can allow for you to have a bit more stylistic freedom. You can even use some false flowers in the favors, too!

Table Cloths

Table cloths are yet another easy, portable decor option that can bring some class to any wedding. You can coordinate the table cloth to the wedding colors or even the scenery around you for a lovely, cohesive aesthetic that’s easy to take along with you. Plus, if there are any wrinkles, hang it in the bathroom while you shower to steam it out.

When you get hitched somewhere beautiful, the only thing that truly matters is you and your honey and the love you share — but that doesn’t mean you can’t deck the place out in the finest to celebrate. No matter what decorations you choose to bring, the magic will all be there.
