Summer is the perfect season for cocktails and with so many new and exciting cocktails coming up, there seems to be more choices now than ever before. Here, we’ve broken down the five cocktails you need this summer with a recipe so you can make these at home. The fun never needs to end!


Everyone has heard of the classic mojito as this cocktail has been around for many years. The mojito originates from Cuba, of rum for those of you who enjoy their Caribbean flavors. In a mojito, you’ll find everything from soda water to sugar, mint leaves and fresh lime juice. Perfect for those evenings when you’d rather be by a beach, the mojito will take you there.

50ml Golden Rum
25ml Fresh Lime Juice
15ml Gomme
6 Mint Leaves
Top Soda Water

How to Make It: 
Squeeze four lime wedges into a glass and drop wedges in. Add all ingredients excluding the soda. Top with crushed ice and stir vigorously. Top with soda and garnish.


The cosmopolitan is a cocktail that is perfect for the summer as it is fruity and nice to look at (always a bonus). Cosmopolitans were first invented by Melissa Huffsmith-Roth in the USA, and they are now a staple on cocktail menus around the world. In a cosmopolitan, you’ll find vodka, orange liqueur, cranberry juice and lime juice.

35ml Vodka
15ml Orange Liqueur
50ml Cranberry Juice
5ml Lime Juice

How to Make It:
Squeeze two lime wedges into a Boston glass or shaker. Add all ingredients, shake and strain into a coup.

Golden Record

Have you ever heard of a golden record? A house creation from The Cocktail Service, this cocktail is a perfect summer thirst-quencher. In a golden record, you’ll get smooth flavors of apricot brandy, pineapple rum, passionfruit juice and other fruity ingredients. A great drink for a cool summer’s evening, just lie back and imagine the waves rolling in.

25ml Plantation Pineapple Rum
25ml Apricot Brandy
15ml Vanilla Syrup
25ml Passionfruit Juice
20ml Lemon Juice
Top Soda Water

How to Make It:
Add all ingredients into a Boston glass or shaker except the Soda. Fill with ice and shake hard. Pour over fresh ice and top with soda. Garnish.

Espresso Martini

Another popular cocktail right now in bars around the country is an espresso martini, offering the perfect mix of vodka and coffee. The ingredients of an espresso martini are very simple, but they taste great when combined. You can expect to find vodka, coffee liqueur and fresh espresso coffee in an espresso martini.

25ml Vodka
25ml Coffee Liqueur
50ml Fresh Espresso Coffee
5ml Gomme

How to Make It:
Add all ingredients into a Boston glass or shaker. Shake all ingredients very hard and fine strain into a coup.

Amaretto Sour

The final cocktail to make our list of the best cocktails for summer is an amaretto sour. This drink has a great almond flavor that you will love, and it features some other interesting ingredients. In an amaretto sour, you’ll find amaretto, fresh lemon juice, sugar syrup and an egg white. Make sure to give this drink a try for an interesting cocktail for the summer.

50ml Amaretto
25ml Fresh Lemon Juice
15ml Sugar Syrup
1 Egg White (Use 3 drops Ms.Betters Bitters to make Vegan)

How to Make It: 
Add all ingredients into a Boston glass or shaker. Fill with ice and shake hard. Pour over fresh ice and garnish.
