Each year, Pantone comes out with the color of the year, and this year it’s “Very Peri,” a relaxing shade of purple. This couldn’t be a better choice for the year 2022 because of the psychology of the color, meaning: wisdom, bravery, and spirituality. I think we can all agree that these virtues are most desirable at the moment, so why not incorporate some of that energy into your destination wedding?

To help inspire you, we’re sharing floral arrangements and bridal fashion along with the backstory being each design from the designers themselves!

FLORALS

The Millie Collection from Something Borrowed Blooms is a collection of English garden-inspired silk florals featuring butterfly hydrangeas, lilac, English roses, and delphinium. This timeless and romantic collection is perfect for a backyard wedding or a ballroom affair.

Inspiration for the new collection came from our customers. For years, brides have requested a blue floral collection, which isn’t easy to deliver since most natural flowers aren’t a true blue. But we made a compromise with the most beautiful shades of periwinkle to pull together a dreamy collection of garden-inspired florals, perfect small intimate gatherings and ballroom affairs alike. Each flower within the collection includes stems found in the English countryside. Butterfly hydrangeas, lilac, English roses, and delphinium in light blue, periwinkle, and creamy white paired together perfectly to create a beautiful and timeliness arrangement.” – Lauren and Laken of Something Borrowed Blooms

FASHION

KYNAH, meaning female leader, has been at the forefront of Indian luxury fashion, offering accessible designer clothing and accessories from the East to the West since 2017. The company is also highlighting some of their best designs featuring the Pantone color of the year.

A mix of tradition and glam, KYNAH’s Astrea Lehenga features an organza skirt with delicate geometric patterns using applique and mirrors. The skirt is paired with a matching high neck blouse and organza dupatta with a sequined border.

“Absolutely love this color of the year! I love that after everything we’ve collectively been through, this vibrant blue-purple indicates happiness and hopefulness. That’s what weddings are also about, right?; New beginnings and the celebration of love, trust & happiness. Blending our perception of this color along with metallic embroidered geometric patterns and floral designs makes it a versatile piece. It’s perfect for any occasion ranging from an outdoor garden party to a flamboyant indoor event.” – Chamee & Palak

KYNAH’s Veronica lavender lehenga features an organza base with delicate rose gold glass beads with a bralette style blouse and a matching net dupatta for a just-the-right-amount-of-sparkle look.

“It’s our take on giving lavender a more rustic vibe. The silk organza base provides a muted yet royal feel. The embroidery is a fine mix of glass beads & zardosi which provides a unique, intricate three-dimensional effect to the piece.” – Chamee & Palak

Ariese is a pastel purple corset draped sari paired with an attached pre-draped, pre-stitched, hand-embellished pallu.

“I envisioned the sari to be something that anyone would love to wear to a beach wedding, so we incorporated the flow-y georgette layers and ditched the cancan altogether. I also wanted to give the corset a more playful tone and so we decided to add draped sleeves to it. The overall agenda was to create a relaxed vibe over this garment. The Ariese was a reflection of the label’s consistent attempt to give an unconventional twist to the traditional sari style.” – Shloka Khialani
