When the visionaries behind Chris Cook Photography and Type A Society, Chris and Carrie, joined forces, the result was a breathtaking styled shoot at The Lodge at Blue Sky: An Auberge Resort. The inspiration? A celebration of the natural beauty of Utah, infused with sophisticated elegance.
“Carrie and I first connected through a podcast,” shares photographer Christopher Cook. “From our very first conversation, it was clear that we shared a vision for creating something truly extraordinary. The collaboration felt natural, like an artistic partnership destined to bring beauty to life.”
The allure of The Lodge at Blue Sky, nestled amidst the stunning Utah mountains, provided the perfect backdrop for this intimate wedding inspiration. “Residing near Park City, Utah, I am enamored with The Lodge at Blue Sky,” says Cook. “The early spring mountains provide a tranquil backdrop, where nature begins to awaken. This intimate mountain wedding theme was inspired by the freshness of spring and the lush greenery. The location’s serene elegance perfectly complemented the theme.”
The ceremony was a study in understated luxury. “The ceremony installation was a masterpiece inspired by earth tones blended with the vibrancy of spring,” Cook explains. “Shawn from The Floral Bar Co. is an artistic genius. Her vision encompassed lush, springtime elegance with earth tones, seamlessly integrating the natural beauty of Utah. Peach and rust tones in the florals subtly echoed the iconic red rocks, offering destination-seeking couples a way to celebrate in a sophisticated, earth-connected manner.”
For the reception, the focus was on creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. “We envisioned a cozy, intimate dining experience,” says Cook. “Sharing a meal with the closest loved ones in a breathtaking setting is the epitome of luxury. We incorporated touches of green to bring the freshness of spring indoors, creating an ambiance that is both warm and exquisitely refined.”
The collaboration between the vendors was a seamless symphony of creativity. “Our team was nothing short of spectacular,” Cook enthuses. “Each creative brought their unparalleled expertise to the table, making the vision a stunning reality. The synergy among the vendors was palpable, each bringing their unique talents to create a harmonious and beautiful event.”
For Cook, the highlight of the shoot was the opportunity to capture the love story of the real-life couple involved. “Working with Hannah and Zack was a highlight,” he shares. “They embodied the dream couple, allowing us to create a narrative that resonates deeply with anyone who views the photos. The portraits we captured in the lobby and around the property encapsulate the essence of what I strive for in my work: making couples feel like the heroes of their own stories, celebrated with all the grandeur and elegance they deserve.”
This styled shoot at The Lodge at Blue Sky is a testament to the power of collaboration and the beauty of the natural world. It offers couples seeking a destination wedding an inspiring vision of elegance and intimacy, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Utah.
