On a radiant day in the heart of Champagne, the scene was set for a timeless and romantic French castle wedding at the stunning Château Comtesse Lafond. A grand reception table was elegantly arranged in front of the castle, while the floral designer and her team crafted two semi-circle arches at the castle’s entrance for the outdoor ceremony. The arches featured an ombré of hortensias: deep blue at the base, transitioning to light blue, and culminating in pure white at the top—a breathtaking sight framed by the castle’s iconic towers.
The model, Miss Champagne-Ardenne 2022 Solène Scholer, prepared in the château’s luxurious bridal suite, marking her first-ever bridal modeling experience. The shoot’s inspiration was to showcase the allure of destination weddings in the Champagne region, a place steeped in history, charm, and, of course, world-famous Champagne. The Château itself is the perfect venue for lovers of this iconic French sparkling wine, offering not only a regal setting but also producing seven exquisite vintages.
In keeping with the French theme, the design was centered around the traditional “toile de jouy” pattern, incorporating it into invitations, favor boxes, and even the wedding cake. A champagne tower was artfully arranged, complemented by a vintage cart displaying Comtesse Lafond’s seven signature Champagne bottles. Classic French elements such as a pièce montée (choux tower), macarons, and Champagne reflected the authentic spirit of a French wedding celebration.
The reception table featured a floral runner of cascading light blue hortensias, extending from end to end. Vintage gold chandeliers and candle holders, with light blue candles, added to the timeless, romantic aesthetic. To further elevate the theme, a French vintage Citroën 2CV was staged in front of the castle, adorned with florals spilling from inside the car, creating an unforgettable scene.
The couple, styled in the height of French fashion, showcased custom designs by Chris Von Martial: a blue three-piece suit for the groom and a stunning sleeveless gown with an oversized bow for the bride. For the evening, the bride changed into a glittering long-sleeve gown, while the groom donned a classic tuxedo. The look was completed with elegant Dior accessories, including white bridal shoes and leather belts for the groom.
Inside the historic Comtesse Lafond cellars, where Champagne has been crafted and stored for centuries, adding another layer of depth and luxury to this captivating shoot. Every detail, from the sword-sabering tradition to the vibrant floral design, contributed to the rich storytelling of this styled wedding—one that fully embraces the romance, history, and culture of France.
