This styled wedding shoot in Sorrento, Italy is all about showing what it truly means to allow a destination to speak for itself. “La Dolce Living,” as its creators are calling it, was set against the sea-facing terraces of the Grand Hotel Europa Palace in Sorrento.  

Conceived by wedding planner and designer Benedetta Terzaghi of White Dreams, and brought to life through the lens of photographer Claudia of Weddingcherie, the shoot leans into lifestyle over spectacle. The idea is to favor movement, spontaneity, and real emotion over the stiff perfection so often associated with editorial wedding content.

Letting Sorrento Lead the Vision

For Benedetta, the location wasn’t just a beautiful setting, but it inspired every element of the shoot.

“I chose Sorrento, and specifically the Grand Hotel Europa Palace, for its timeless elegance and its privileged seaside setting,” she explains. “The terraces overlooking the horizon, the Mediterranean light, and the natural materials of the venue immediately guided the creative vision, leading us toward an aesthetic that is both refined and authentic, in perfect balance between luxury and simplicity.”

That balance between grandeur and ease became the thread running through every design decision that followed.

A Lifestyle, Not Just a Wedding

Rather than staging a purely aspirational tablescape, the team behind “La Dolce Living” set out to capture something looser and more human.

“With ‘La Dolce Living,’ I wanted to capture more of a lifestyle than just a wedding: a light, intimate, and spontaneous atmosphere, where each moment flows naturally into the next,” Benedetta says. “We intentionally introduced more playful and dynamic elements to move away from overly static and constructed editorials, aiming instead to convey real emotions and a true sense of conviviality.”

A Palette Drawn From the Coastline Itself

The visual identity of the shoot came directly from its surroundings, rather than from a preconceived design board.

“The palette was inspired directly by the surroundings: creamy neutrals, hints of straw yellow, greens, and delicate touches of silver,” Benedetta notes. “We focused on the contrast between raw and refined materials, such as stone paired with luminous details, to create visual depth while maintaining a clean and elegant aesthetic.”

Mediterranean Identity, Front and Center

Cultural authenticity was non-negotiable for the White Dreams team, who wove local character into nearly every detail.

“We embraced the Mediterranean identity through details such as citrus elements, warm natural light, organic textures, and a tablescape that reflects Italian tradition with a contemporary twist,” Benedetta says. “The choice of music and overall atmosphere also contributed to evoking the slow, sophisticated rhythm of the Amalfi Coast.”

Advice for Couples Dreaming of a Similar Look

For couples planning their own destination celebration on the Amalfi Coast, or anywhere with this kind of natural beauty, Benedetta offers grounded, experience-tested advice.

“My main advice is to let the destination inspire you, rather than forcing a concept onto it,” she says. “Working with professionals who truly know the area is essential to enhance its natural beauty. I also recommend focusing on a cohesive palette and a few well-curated elements, rather than overloading the design. Finally, aim to create a seamless and natural experience, where design and atmosphere blend harmoniously.”

Through the Lens: Capturing Golden-Hour Romance

Behind the camera, photographer Claudia of Weddingcherie set out to translate that same spirit of ease and celebration into every frame.

“My goal was to capture a joyful, intimate, and festive atmosphere that combined Italian warmth with the elegance of a destination wedding,” she says. “I worked mainly with natural light, using the sunset and the terrace overlooking the sea to create soft, authentic, and emotional images.”

Movement, in particular, was central to how she approached the day.

“Movement was essential to give a real sense of celebration through music, wind, flowing fabrics, and spontaneous moments,” Claudia explains. “In post-production, I chose a slightly vintage look inspired by Italian postcards from the 80s and 90s.”

When it came to the details worth lingering on, two elements stood out above the rest.

“I also wanted to highlight the bride’s dress and the terrace tablescape, making every design detail part of the visual story,” she adds.

The Result: An Ode to Slow, Sophisticated Celebration

Together, Benedetta’s vision and Claudia’s lens produced something that feels sun-warmed, unhurried, and full of life. “La Dolce Living” is a reminder that the most memorable destination weddings aren’t the ones that impose a concept on a place, but the ones that let the place itself set the tone.
