Today’s gorgeous styled shoot started with inspiration from the blissful feeling of wandering the French countryside. We spoke with the shoot’s photographer, Kate Timbers, to get the inside scoop!

Kate Timbers and the Unitarian Church both wanted to celebrate the beauty Charleston has to offer, so they both decided to start planning a styled shoot in the Unitarian Church’s gorgeous overgrown garden and church. They brought on Loraine of Invitation Only who was a big part in making this shoot come to fruition in a beautifully polished style.

“Charleston is known for its old architecture and lush tropical greenery, so we wanted to showcase that in our shoot,” Timbers says. “The church taupe exterior color along with the pale blue colors of the interior ceiling were the starting point of building our color scheme for the shoot, but we also wanted to bring a vibrant, modern twist to the colors, choosing bold yellow, peach, and pink. The overall inspiration for the style of the shoot was that wonderful feeling of strolling the streets of Charleston in good weather – relaxed, full of color, and unapologetically gorgeous.”

For this collaboration, Timbers sent a small mood board of the colors/theme and then let each vendor choose how they wanted to approach that. She wanted to give the vendors true freedom to showcase their individual talents and creativity. Loraine of Invitation Only also helped coordinate with vendors and deliveries and created a gorgeous tablescape for the sweetheart table that effortlessly complemented Feast and Flora’s vibrant, fresh floral centerpiece.

“The models are a real couple, as well as seasoned models, so they just brought the photoshoot to life with their loving, happy energy, and they both looked incredible styled by Shadows and Shears,” Timbers tells us. “Their attire was unique and stunning with Diamonds Direct jewelry, a feather bowtie by Brackish, an Alena Fede Design Studio wedding dress and The Black Tux suit. The trolley of Carolina Limousine & Coach fit perfectly in front of the historic church and The French Eclectic’s furniture helped bring a French vibe to the overall affair! Dodeline Design gave the sweetest stationery to reflect our theme, including adorable place cards at each setting. Overall, each vendor and model gave such inspired services and products that truly helped bring this vision to life!”

The joy of working together with talented vendors and models and being able to create something with no limits, just from pure inspiration and passion!
