Amidst the majestic peaks of Boulder, Colorado the St. Julien Hotel & Spa served as the scenic backdrop for Azadeh and Matthew’s nuptial celebrations. Their journey began in the digital world of Bumble, where fate intervened and brought these two together. “Our first date was on a rainy Tuesday at what is now our favorite Mexican restaurant in New York City, the Rio,” Azadeh fondly recalls. “I left the date telling Matt that next time he should be more aggressive and kiss me! We ended up meeting up that Friday and spending the next 24 hours together—the rest is history!”

Choosing a destination wedding was an easy decision for Azadeh and Matthew. With Azadeh’s deep ties to Colorado’s picturesque landscapes and loved ones scattered across the East, Boulder emerged as the perfect meeting point. “Since most of our friends and my family are out East, it was a great way to get everyone out to where Azadeh was from,” shares the groom.

Their attention to detail was impeccable. Azadeh crafted a beautiful tribute to her father’s memory and her mother’s resilience with a flower hair bar inspired by cherished family vacations in Hawaii. And let’s not forget the glitter bar at the reception, adding a touch of sparkle to the festivities. “We had a glitter bar set up, and everyone could do fun face glitter at night, which I am a fan of all things sparkling,” Azadeh reminisces.

Amidst the stunning decor and breathtaking landscapes, Azadeh and Matt exchanged vows that truly captured the essence of their love. From promises to always get a second Chipotle salad dressing to pledges of unwavering support, their Boulder ceremony was a beautiful blend of sincerity and humor, perfectly reflecting their unique bond.

As they set off on their journey as newlyweds, Azadeh and Matt offer a piece of advice to future couples planning their own wedding adventures: “Trust your vendors,” advises Azadeh. “Find a planner who becomes more a friend than a person that you have hired, a partner. This was critical for our success.” So, if you’re dreaming of a destination wedding, take it from these two lovebirds—it’s a journey worth embarking on!
