Cassandra and Raeto’s relationship moved with the efficiency of the finance industry where they met. After a “love at first sight” encounter at a work conference, they were engaged within six months. When it came to the wedding, they bypassed the local options for a destination that felt like a second home: Mallorca.

Why Mallorca Was the Only Choice

Destination weddings are often about discovery, but for Raeto, Mallorca was already home-adjacent. “Raeto grew up going to Mallorca for 20 years and we have a house there so it’s like a home away from home,” Cassandra explains. Add in world-class food, warm hospitality, and scenery that looks filtered in real life, and the decision felt obvious.

It wasn’t the easiest trip for everyone. Guests traveled from the U.S. and Switzerland, but Cassandra and Raeto made it worth every mile. “We made it a full two weeks of festivities for those who stuck around,” they say. The post-wedding pool paella day deserves its own highlight reel. “The pool ‘paella day’ after the wedding was an absolute blast (and a bit of a sigh of relief)!”

Translation: if you are asking your guests to fly across the world, feed them well, give them sunshine, and let them recover by a pool.

The Venue That Set the Tone

Finca Sa Bastida isn’t just a venue. It’s a statement. Perched with an infinity pool overlooking Mallorca’s mountains, it captures the quieter, less-touristed side of the island. The couple were enamored by the infinity pool at Finca Sa Bastida overlooking the mountains, “a magical way to capture the essence of the center of Mallorca,” Cassandra notes.

Even better, the property allowed close friends and family to stay on-site, turning the wedding into a full weekend immersion. “The Finca has so much history, and you can tell the owners have put a lot of love and effort into refurbishing the 13th-century house,” they add.

Fun fact: this was the first wedding ever hosted at the venue. “It was the first wedding that the venue held, and it surpassed our expectations,” Cassandra says.

Trust Your Planner, Especially Abroad

If there’s one recurring theme in Cassandra and Raeto’s planning story, it’s trust. Fab Events Lab didn’t just find them a venue. They found them the venue. “He found this venue that hadn’t yet hosted their first wedding. He took into account our feedback and knew we would love to party outdoors until late and even have the ability to jump in the pool with all of our friends!”

Mallorca summer nights, outdoor dancing, and zero curfews? Say less.

Decor That Meant Something

While the setting was already cinematic, the couple infused the day with deeply personal touches. “We loved showing homage to our parents and grandparents relationships,” the bride says. Wedding photos of past generations were displayed at the reception, grounding the celebration in family history.

Practical magic mattered too. Under the blazing Mallorcan sun, their planner suggested a lemonade station before the ceremony. “And it was indeed hot that day!” Cassandra says.

Still, their true priorities were clear. “Our main focus, however, was the food and the fun!” And they delivered.

A Party That Started Immediately

This is where the wedding officially entered its main character era. During cocktail hour, the band marched onto the pool deck dressed head-to-toe in white and started rapping 90s hits. “The band marched onto the pool deck dressed in all white and started rapping 90s tunes. We couldn’t have imagined anything better!”

The night only escalated from there. Cassandra sang the intro to their first dance, “At Last,” live with the band. Guests joined in throughout the night. There was a cigar lounge by the pool, a nod to the couple’s engagement celebration, and eventually, yes, swimming.

A Ceremony That Reflected Both Worlds

The ceremony struck a thoughtful balance between American and Swiss traditions. A close friend officiated, which made it deeply personal. “She captured the essence of both of us individually and in our relationship,” Cassandra shares.

Because guests traveled so far, the couple chose to write their own vows. They also honored Raeto’s Swiss-German roots with a slideshow during speeches. “It was fun to show baby pictures and the evolution of our relationship,” the bride says. With eight bridesmaids and eight groomsmen, the ceremony felt surrounded by love in every direction.

Fashion and Beauty Notes Worth Screenshotting

Cassandra wore the Galia Lahav Anica gown, which fit the setting like it was designed specifically for golden-hour Mallorca. Hair and makeup by Lucia Zima kept the look polished but effortless, while the bridesmaids were styled by Jose Ojeda and Sergio Quesada. Raeto wore Norton & Sons, bringing tailored European elegance to the day.

Planning Lessons Straight From the Source

Planning from abroad is not for the faint of heart, but Cassandra and Raeto cracked the code. “Our wedding planner was key! Planning a wedding from abroad isn’t easy so we relied heavily on his suggestions and local expertise,” the bride says. They visited Mallorca ahead of time for tastings and vision planning, especially since food and drinks were non-negotiables.

From mango margaritas served in bags for poolside partying at 3 a.m. to espresso martinis rolled out instead of coffee, the details were intentional and guest-focused.

Their biggest takeaway? Perspective. “There will certainly be things that go wrong on the day, but none of your guests will notice. Just live in the moment and trust your vendors,” Cassandra advises.

And honestly, that might be the most viral-worthy advice of all.
