If you ask us, you don’t need a reason to get married abroad, but if you did, we’d say Ashley and Jack’s reason to bring both of their Italian-American dads to Italy for the first time is a pretty compelling one.

From the Warehouse to the Amalfi Coast

The road to Amalfi actually began in an Amazon warehouse in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where the two first met as managers. Although they worked under the same roof, they didn’t really cross paths until a group of colleagues gathered outside of work. According to Jack, “This is when Ashley and I really started connecting, first in a friendship way, which later led to dating.”

Fast forward to February 2025, and the pair began planning an intimate, 11-person wedding for June of that same year. With a timeline much shorter than most, they leaned heavily on their wedding planner, Ema Giangreco. Ema was “1000000%” their go-to for logistics, especially since they couldn’t do any pre-wedding site visits.

Finding “The One” (Venue, That Is)

When it came to picking a spot, Ema narrowed it down to five hotels with killer views. But once they saw Borgo Santandrea, the search was over. The couple notes, “both of us felt right away that it was the venue, and it was immediately our favorite.” Between the castle-like architecture and the high-quality service, it was exactly the “remarkable venue” they were looking for.

Personal Touches & Taylor Swift

The big day was filled with subtle details that packed a sentimental punch. Ashley chose peonies (her favorite flower since childhood) as a tribute to her grandparents. She has fond memories of picking bouquets of them with her grandpa to give to her grandmother before dinner.

And because no family celebration is complete without the dog, their Australian Cattle dog, Neo, made an appearance on the stationery and cocktail napkins. As the couple shares, “Neo is our first baby, and since we could not bring him to Italy with us, we had to have him around somehow.”

The ceremony itself was a “short but sweet” mix of tradition and personality. While they included prayers to honor their religious backgrounds, they also threw in some fun twists, including a few Taylor Swift references.

Words of Wisdom

Looking back on their whirlwind planning process, Ashley and Jack’s biggest piece of advice is to get a pro on your side early. They suggest that couples “start as soon as possible with your wedding planner because they are literally putting together a production for you.” Because they started early with Ema, they were able to pull off their dream wedding with less stress and more options!
