Heather and Jordan fell in love with the mountains after exploring every part of Colorado they could. When it was time to choose a wedding destination, they wanted to share that part of themselves with their wedding guests. Growing up, the bride never imagined a destination wedding. It wasn’t until she fell in love with the destination that the idea seemed possible.

When it came to choosing the venue, it was as easy as driving over a hill into Estes Park to know that this was the place they wanted to say “I do.” As the couple drove into Estes Park, they reached the top of the hill and the view of the town was breathtaking. They knew that as soon as their guests peaked the hill they would be awed by the beauty and feel the magic.

Heather and Jordan are avid hikers and appreciated the trails and scenic areas of Rocky Mountain National Park. They knew that paired with the welcoming downtown area filled with one-of-a-kind shops would be a winner for every guest. Another bonus was the multiple cozy and rustic hotel and cabin options in town for their guests to choose from (many guests came from Wisconsin). Estes Park had a little bit of everything and the bride and groom knew it was the perfect place to make memories.

Once they had the perfect place, they began planning the perfect day. Heather began DIY projects as early as the save-the-dates, personalizing the cards with a pop-up mountain photograph the couple had taken themselves during one of their hikes. She didn’t stop there. Her creations were featured throughout the wedding, including a guest book that was to be filled with polaroid pictures as guests arrived on the big day. Also, she created mountain place settings as the table number and seating assignments. With the table assignments including the name of the guest, there was also a treat each guest could take with them. The whole day was filled with personal touches, which made the day special and unique to the bride and groom.

To remember the day, Heather was sure to prepare her bouquet to be dried and displayed in a shadow box along with wedding pictures, the groom’s bowtie and her hairclip.

The bride says that the wedding wouldn’t have been the same if they had it closer to home. “It wouldn’t have had what we love so much and that is the mountains,” Heather says.

By having their wedding in the mountains in Estes Park, Heather feels that she and Jordan were able to share a part of themselves and their lifestyle with their guests. When the big day arrived it all came together and the guests loved every moment.
