Eight years ago Bahar and George’s love story began – or at least it did for Bahar. “I met George on my first day of work and that night I told my dad I met an attorney who looked like Robert Redford and I was going to marry him,” recalls Bahar.

When Bahar’s premonition came true, the couple decided to host a destination wedding. They wanted their wedding to symbolize the two of them as a couple. “I don’t think either of us ever envisioned getting married with an ocean view before we met, but somehow as our relationship evolved and as we traveled more, the vision of a beach wedding became our idea of how we wanted it to be,” explains the bride.

Because a majority of their guest list would have to travel regardless, 160 people were able to attend their authentic Persian ceremony. Bahar had a bouquet made of gold and pearl jewelry she had collected, including precious pieces from her mother and grandmothers’ collections. This way, both of her grandmothers were able to be there in spirit since neither of them could fly to Mexico.

Bahar and George’s wedding weekend was an extravagant array of activities. Thursday night’s kick-off included cocktails, karaoke and dancing by the pool, followed by Friday night’s “White Night” rehearsal dinner where all guests wore white. An after party on the beach consisted of music and s’mores at a private bonfire where everyone lit floating Thai lanterns, beautifully illuminating the night sky.

The reception was a fabulous “boho chic” meets “sophisticated hippie” affair complete with a hookah lounge, fireworks and plenty of energy. The venue décor was nearly all white and dripping in gold accents, providing for a truly lavish soirée.

“Do what you want. Create a united vision and make it happen. The important thing is you end up with what makes you happy,” says the bride. In doing so, Bahar and George were able to dance the night away by the sea, just as they had imagined
– living proof that love at first sight does exist.
