Why a Destination Wedding in Tulum?

For Autumn and Alieu, Tulum was more than just a wedding destination—it was a place of cherished memories and endless adventures. “We have been traveling to Tulum a lot and we love it so much that we knew our wedding destination was there. There’s so much adventure to experience,” they shared. This love for Tulum, combined with its natural beauty, made it the ideal location to say “I do.”

Choosing the Perfect Venue

Selecting the right venue was a pivotal moment in their wedding planning journey. With the guidance of their wedding planner, Patty Morales from Soon To Be Wedding, they discovered Nü Tulum. “Patty gave us the best options possible, and after a scouting day with her, we chose Nü!” The venue’s boho-modern jungle ambiance resonated deeply with the couple, providing the perfect backdrop for their minimalist yet elevated wedding. “It has that boho-modern jungle vibe where we could make a reality of our minimalist but elevated wedding,” Autumn and Alieu explained.

Special Elements of the Day

“Everything was boho chic but very clean and effortless so we could elevate the reception into an elegant jungle oasis,” the couple reflected. The décor, arranged by Cherry Blossom and Bifloral, beautifully complemented the natural surroundings, transforming the venue into a dreamlike setting.

A Ceremony to Remember

Opting for a symbolic ceremony, Autumn and Alieu chose to exchange their vows unconventionally. “To be honest, we did a symbolic ceremony, but our vows were during our first look—the best moment ever,” they reminisced. This personal touch added a unique and heartfelt element to their day, setting the tone for the rest of the celebration.

Planning from Afar

Planning a destination wedding comes with its own set of challenges, but Autumn and Alieu found that visiting Tulum ahead of their big day made all the difference. “We definitely did a pre-wedding visit to taste the food and cakes and meet with almost all the suppliers,” they shared. This hands-on approach allowed them to feel confident in their choices and ensured that their vision was executed to perfection.

The celebration was brought to life by a talented team of vendors, including photographer Fred from Memory Box, cake designer Zaida Marcos, and hair and makeup artist Zoe Elizabeth. The couple also enlisted EVT for their tent, and Imperial Band provided the perfect soundtrack with a DJ, violinist, and band.
