The Parker is one of the most iconic hotels in sunny Palm Springs, California. The classic, mid-century modern vibe, lush grounds and rich history of this hotel attract guests from all around. Perhaps the most prominent guests of the hotel are couples who booked the venue for its wonderful embrace of the destination. Avery and Chris are one of those couples.

“I always knew we were going to get married in Palm Springs because you’re almost guaranteed good weather,” Avery says, “and my parents got married there”

After touring several venues in Palm Springs, the Parker won Chris and Avery’s hearts. Their advice for couples in the venue selection process is to first pick a town that is personally significant to you as a couple, and “then pick a venue based on the feeling you get when touring in person,” the bride says.

The overall design for everything from the couple’s invites to their ballroom reception highlighted the bride’s love for all things pink. Hiring a talented florist local to Palm Springs, Vaso Bello Celebrations, Avery shared her vision, and they ran with it. “The flower types and colors were how we incorporated my girly pink-loving personality,” the bride explains.

To ensure a smooth experience for their loved ones, Chris and Avery secured room blocks at both the Parker and a nearby, less-pricey alternative to ensure all of their guests could stay close for the weekend of celebration. Avery sent details on how to reserve a room in the block on their wedding invites.

Reflecting on their wedding day, one of the couple’s biggest challenges was finding time to connect with each other amidst the celebration. “Everyone will be trying to talk to you and get your attention, so you have to make sure you remember to get some special private moments with your partner on your wedding day,” the bride advises.

For those navigating the intricacies of planning a destination wedding, Avery’s advice is clear: “Lock in all your vendors as soon as possible so you can really sit back and relax leading up to the big day.” She also emphasizes the importance of budgeting. “Whatever budget you set, you will likely end up going over it,” she notes with a laugh. “But getting a better understanding of how much everything will really cost beforehand will help set your expectations.”

Looking back, Chris and Avery couldn’t imagine a more ideal Palm Springs wedding. “I think everything played out exactly as it was supposed to and it was beautiful and awesome!” Avery reflects. For them, investing in a great wedding planner and photographer was key to bringing their dream day to life.
