They say when planning a wedding it takes a village, and for Kelly and Chris’ intimate wedding trip to Sandals Negril, Jamaica, that old saying stood true.

“We had traveled to Jamaica a few times while we were dating and fell in love with the location,” Kelly says.

When the couple first started planning, they certainly weren’t expecting the many potholes they would encounter along the way. Unfortunately, just weeks before their original wedding date, the COVID-19 pandemic struck and the planes to their dream ceremony were grounded.

With the safety of their loved ones in mind, the couple made the hard decision to wait out the pandemic and rescheduled their entire wedding.

Thankfully for the two, their amazing team of vendors was able to set their new date with the same details and events they had their heart set on. From there their village of friends and family only grew as vendors and their team joined their march on the way to Jamaica.

“We coordinated with our vendors by including them in all the email travel plans to the other guests,” the bride says. “We treated them as if they were our guests–because they were!”

As the pandemic slowed, the wedding was back on and the couple and their 35 guests were on their way to the gorgeous beaches of Sandals Negril.

Among an intimate group of those closest to them, the couple shared vows beneath a canopy engulfed in tropical greenery and flowers. As the ceremony drew to a close, guests showered them with bubbles and cheers for their new life together.

A relaxed dinner above the rolling waves followed and the couple had time to truly enjoy their destination wedding and their own little village that came along to enjoy it with them.

“Your wedding is about the two of you and your life together,” the bride says. “You need to do what is best for you and what makes you the happiest.”
