When you think of your best childhood memories, is there a specific place that comes to mind? Somewhere where every sight and smell feels nostalgic? For Chris, that destination was one that he shared with his bride-to-be Millie for their wedding.
Chris spent each year during his family vacation in Dordogne, France basking in the warm sunlight and enjoying the savory French foods. As their love blossomed, so did the space in Millie’s heart for the city her soon-to-be-husband spent his childhood adventuring through.
The couple challenged the norm of a glamorous Paris wedding and instead chose to wed in a rural chateau overlooking rolling vineyards. Simple wooden seating and lush greenery added to the natural beauty and ambiance of the ceremony.
“It was infused with yoga traditions, it was totally feminist, and the celebrant was absolutely magical,” the couple’s photographer said.
As the couple’s closest family and friends gathered, Millie and Chris walked down the aisle serenaded by the soft symphony of violins. A circular altar adorned with vines and soft tufts of cotton were the backdrop for the vows that would bring those that had the joy of experiencing them to tears.
After the eyes of the guests were dried after an emotional ceremony, sunset approached and it was time for an elegant meal beneath a canopy of vibrant green trees. A melody of crickets chirping played in the background as guests feasted on food catered by Finesse Cuisine.
The beautiful Chateau in the land known for its gourmet delights served as the perfect destination for the beginnings of a complex and elegant love like the one shared between Millie and Chris. Together they shared with those that cherish them most a love and respect for each other that everyone could see.
“It was so touching to see how they loved and admired each other, and how they accepted each other fully,” the couple’s photographer said.
