Nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Lake Como, Italy, a team of talented wedding professionals came together to create a dreamy and elegant styled wedding shoot that captured the essence of romance and beauty. Claudia De Velasco, the mastermind behind A Day To Remember, sat down to share the journey behind this enchanting shoot.

The collaboration between photographer David and Claudia began as a conversation about their shared love for destination weddings and their desire to work together. Both residing in Houston, they saw Lake Como as the perfect backdrop for their creative project. Months of planning, designing, and assembling the perfect team were dedicated to creating this masterpiece.

“Lake Como has some of the most beautiful landscapes,” Claudia says, “the soft color palette of the sky, the mountain valleys and the lake…I wanted the color palette to enhance its beauty. As a nod to Pantone’s 2023 Color of the Year, we featured Viva Magenta for the pop of color.”

The ceremony setting was intentionally kept simple to allow the stunning Lake Como to take center stage. An asymmetrical arch adorned with fuchsia and ivory garden roses, blush peonies, and soft green foliage created an ethereal atmosphere. The arrangement exuded an organic and natural feel, complementing the picturesque backdrop of the lake and mountains.

Moving on to the reception, an exquisite Italian villa with “hand-painted art gracing the ceilings, soft muted walls, hardwood floors and a baby grand piano for the ballroom area,” the planner adds. A royal table sat draped with blush floral pattern ivory linen and featured a lush floral runner consisting of white and blush pink peonies, pink Majolika baby roses, and more. The attention to detail extended to the place settings, with deckled edge square menu cards and laser-cut glassware adding an elegant touch.

The collaboration between the vendors was described as an unforgettable experience for all. Claudia’s established relationships with the floral team, hair and makeup artist, and other professionals ensured a seamless working dynamic. The Lake Como vendors also played a significant role in bringing the vision to life, their dedication and expertise shining through in every detail.

“When you bring in a team of professionals and entrust your vision, only beautiful things can happen!” Claudia remarks.

The culmination of months of planning and creative input turned out to be a truly magical moment. The result? A timeless, elegant depiction of romance and love that will undoubtedly inspire couples seeking a destination wedding as enchanting as Lake Como itself.
