Instead, opt for a block heel or wedge to provide stability on soft turf and uneven terrain. There are also more great-looking rubber-soled dress shoes available. It’s also great to stash a foldable flat in your bag just in case.”

Before making a final wardrobe decision, take a few minutes to investigate how the venue handles inclement weather. “Check the venue’s social media or website for photos of previous rainy-day weddings,” O’Connell advises. “It will give you a clear idea of whether the ‘Plan B’ space is a covered patio, a tent with flooring, or a muddy trek to a barn.”
