A destination wedding gives couples the chance to create an experience that delivers all the best the location of their dreams has to offer. Paris, France is a city that is synonymous with romance and love. There’s so much inspiration in this famous city to fuel an extraordinary wedding, big or small. We had the opportunity to create our own modern spin in this old-world city, inspired by its art, food, fashion and architecture.

THE NIGHT BEFORE

When you welcome guests to Paris, why not start with an iconic view of the city? And we love a venue space that can double as accommodations plus a chic welcome party!

Not far from the Place de la Madeleine in Paris, Hotel de Pourtalès was originally built in 1839 as an aristocrat’s mansion, complete with a garden in the inner courtyard. With a rich history as the go-to address for privacy-seeking celebrities in Paris with guests that included the likes of Prince, Madonna, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kim Kardashian.

A true work of art, Hotel de Pourtalès was renovated and redesigned by avant-garde French designers and famous international artists to decorate the 11 accommodations spread over seven floors.

Located on the 6th, 7th and 8th floor the Sky Penthouse is the perfect location for an intimate wedding party. This sophisticated Signature Suite offers impressive accommodations along with a dining and living room, and a full gourmet kitchen. But what makes it especially special is the panoramic roof terrace with a private garden, and a 180-degree view of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower!

An intimate dinner table with a lavender and white floral garland and plenty of candlelight created a memorable setting for celebratory toasts and conversations.

The Night Before gives guests the chance to meet before the big day. What I love most about destination weddings is being able to create connections with guests who may not know each other beforehand, but leave as friends by the end of the weekend.  This welcome party included delectable bites, aromatic cocktails and wine, live music, and views of enchanting Paris. The best part about being in the heart of the city, taking advantage of sunset overlooking the Eiffel Tower for an iconic photo session.

Steph our bride was flirty and gorgeous in a sweetheart voluminous short dress with striking floral lace and matching detailed long gloves by Mira Zwillinger.

GETTING READY

No longer an afterthought, be sure to consider what you’ll wear and set time aside for epic getting-ready photos while you’re in Paris.

WEDDING DAY

When searching for a wedding venue in Paris, consider the level of service you and your guests will receive, the flexibility in hosting your event at the property, and the possible locations you’ll have for your photos. Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris checks all the boxes and is located just a few steps from the Champs-Elysees and with views of the Arc de Triomphe. In addition to the 149 luxurious rooms and suites, the hotel also has a 99-seat cinema, an art gallery, The Spa Clarins, as well as 3 restaurants and 2 bars.

Il Carpaccio, a starred Italian restaurant, was the location of our intimate wedding vows and reception. Inspired by the hotel’s devotion to modern art, we kept the wedding design clean and simple, allowing the gorgeous natural light and architecture of the restaurant to take center stage.

The bride wore a gown by Mira Zwillinger featuring a deep sweetheart corset with a voluminous rich tulle skirt and a side slit, adorned with dramatic floral embroidery. Stylist Katie of My Wedding Wardrobe paired the gown with A.B. Ellie Lunden Organza Bridal Cape for more coverage during the ceremony.

A lavender-hued palette was weaved throughout the stationery and floral. A nod to the city, the table numbers included art drawings of Paris architecture. Champagne and escort cards go so well together to greet guests with a glass of bubbly as they find their seats. And the wedding cake was simple with accents of beautiful lavender-colored floral.

THE DAY AFTER

Capping off a beautiful weekend, we love a good day after brunch to reminisce on the wedding and say goodbye before everyone travels home. The rooftop garden at the Sky Penthouse at Hotel de Pourtalès made it so hard to say goodbye to Paris, but the view was breathtaking for brunch. A brunch with all the French favorites including croissants, macarons, and a selection of cheese leaves a lasting impression of this magical city.

The best thing about a 3-day wedding is the opportunity to have multiple outfits to shine as a bride. This set by Mira Zwillinger featured a high neck long-sleeved Guipure lace top paired with high-waisted lace Guipure shorts. And the bag – just perfection by Self-Portrait.
