April and Chic recently embarked on their own journey to create a remarkable wedding experience. Read along as we delve into their story and explore the details of their beautiful cliffside California destination wedding.

“We met during our nursing school years,” April recalls fondly. Their connection, forged through shared experiences and a mutual passion for nursing, laid the foundation for a love that would eventually lead them to the altar.

April and Chic desired an extraordinary celebration, one that would reflect their personalities and create a lifetime of cherished memories. “We wanted our day to be extra special and have a different vibe. We wanted to have a very distinct experience because we will only do this once in a lifetime,” Chic explains.

The couple found themselves captivated by the allure of La Venta Inn, a venue located in California. April shares a heartwarming story of how she discovered the venue, saying, “Back in 2014, I was a personal caregiver to a 90-year-old lady. Her home is close to La Venta Inn. Every morning I go to work, I always pass by that venue and am always curious about what it looked like inside.”

April and Chic entrusted the venue decor to Veronica of Exquisite Events by V, who went above and beyond to personalize their special day. “She printed our travel photos individually and hung them beautifully where guests picked one to write on the back their sweet and thoughtful messages,” the couple says. Additionally, creative DIY wedding favors were crafted to serve dual purposes as gifts and escort cards.

Planning a destination wedding presents its own unique challenges, but April and Chic overcame them with help from Events by Em. They visited the venue multiple times, allowing them to visualize their wedding day and ensure everything aligned with their desired outcome. The accommodating staff at La Venta Inn provided invaluable support throughout the planning process.

The ceremony was an incredible experience filled with joy and heartfelt moments. Although April and Chic did not incorporate any specific traditions, their officiant, Al-x of Great Officiants, made sure to infuse the ceremony with praise, love, and life lessons. A particularly touching moment occurred when the couple surprised their mothers with roses, expressing their deep gratitude.

April and Chic have a few words of wisdom for couples preparing for their special day. “Just enjoy the process,” they advise. They emphasize the importance of hiring trusted wedding suppliers to alleviate stress and suggest relishing the food-tasting experience, as the wedding day itself can become quite busy.
