Driven by their love of nature and quality time with loved ones, Leah and Guy knew a traditional wedding wouldn’t be enough. Instead, they planned an unforgettable Costa Rica wedding, creating a multi-day celebration in the breathtaking destination of Manuel Antonio. “One wedding day was not long enough in our minds,” Leah explains. “So we chose to have them meet us in another country to spend four-plus days celebrating together!”

When Leah and Guy discovered Villa Punto de Vista in Manuel Antonio, they were stunned by the beauty of the ocean views and the tropical jungle surrounding the villa. They knew it was the perfect setting for their dream Costa Rica destination wedding.

With their perfect venue secured, the couple turned to planner Karen Ogden of Tropical Occasions to help them bring their vision to life. It was imperative to Leah and Guy that their guests were able to experience Costa Rica and the beauty it had to offer. They started off their festivities with a guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park, where they saw the local wildlife. Later that evening, the couple and their guests gathered for a welcome dinner that highlighted the flavors of the local cuisine and cocktails. “The Chiliguaro shots, Guaro sours, and local beers were a great way to get the party started!” Leah says.

The couple’s décor vision not only reflected the natural elements of Costa Rica, but also their interior design preferences. “We looked around our house and realized we both love wood, metals, greenery, and a high-end look with an earthy vibe,” the bride says. Working closely with Karen, Leah and Guy transformed each of the villa’s event spaces into a unique experience. The ceremony was adorned with simple yet lush greenery, creating a natural and elegant setting. For dinner, the mood shifted to a romantic atmosphere with darker and more intimate décor. The celebration culminated in a show-stopping reception, where hanging foliage, disco balls, and a light-up dance floor transformed the villa’s living room into the ultimate party space.

While the couple splurged on a few key elements – like the live duet for their ceremony and the cigar roller that had guests raving – the couple prioritized creating an intimate tropical celebration with their loved ones.

Leah and Guy’s key takeaway for other couples dreaming of a destination wedding is simple: It’s your wedding day, do it how you want to. “There are many different opinions and judgments floating around out there, but the goal is to celebrate your love in the way that you choose.”
