Yesenia and Jorge met way back in 2003, bonding over dodgeballs (or maybe stolen glances?) in their high school gym class. After enduring four years of long-distance during Yesenia’s medical school journey, their love story finally culminated in a beautiful “sí quiero” moment in the heart of San Miguel de Allende.

Why San Miguel de Allende? This charming town in Guanajuato, Jorge’s birthplace, offered the perfect blend of modern amenities and classic Mexican charm.

“When we first visited San Miguel de Allende,” the couple says, “we fell in love with the Parroquia San Miguel Arcangel, the centro filled with mariachis, colorful streets, and delicious restaurants.”

The cobblestone streets, the serenade of mariachis, the explosion of colors – San Miguel de Allende stole Yesenia and Jorge’s hearts from the start. Their dream of a traditional Catholic ceremony hit a hurdle – completing the necessary paperwork. Enter the wedding planning superheroes, Penzi Bodas Eventos & Banquetes!

Mariana Hernandez and her team at Penzi swooped in like wedding ninjas. They leveraged their local connections to secure the missing documents, ensuring a stress-free and seamless religious ceremony. Following fate, Yesenia and Jorge found their dream venue through the same planner. The Instituto Allende boasted not only elegance but also a breathtaking view of the Parroquia San Miguel Arcangel, adding a touch of sentimental significance to their celebration.

The decor was put together after gathering inspiration from numerous wedding videos and social media,” Yesenia says. “We wanted to have a lot of greenery with white flowers.”

But the real showstopper? The dance floor ceiling, adorned with cascading flowers and twinkling candles, all bathed in the warm glow of the nearby Parroquia. Working hand-in-hand with Mariana, they transformed their vision into a reality, creating a space that buzzed with romance and celebration.

Staying true to their Catholic upbringing, Yesenia and Jorge opted for a ceremony rich in tradition. Exchanging vows in Spanish, surrounded by loved ones, was a dream come true for Yesenia, especially with her high school sweetheart by her side.

Choosing a destination wedding allowed Yesenia and Jorge to incorporate cherished Mexican traditions like the Callejoneada, a festive parade through the town’s vibrant streets,  an experience they wouldn’t have been able to recreate back home.

Yesenia and Jorge’s parting advice? Constant communication with your planner is key! Leverage their local expertise and be open to their suggestions. After all, they’re the wedding wizards who can turn your vision into a reality, just like Mariana did for them!
